Curriculum


The Oberon High School Council is responsible for the establishment of curriculum policy. It is the task of the teaching staff to implement that policy. The content and teaching methods of areas of instruction and learning are the responsibility of the staff as directed by the Principal, Curriculum Coordinator and Key Learning Area (KLA) Coordinators. Choice from year 9 onwards allows students to build a program that responds to their individual skills and interests.

Year 7 and 8 Core curriculum is comprised of: English Mathematics Physical Education / Health Social Education Science Lote: Japanese; German; & Indonesian	Year 9 and 10 Core curriculum is comprised of: English Mathematics Year 9 LOTE Elective curriculum from a wide range of KLA based units. Year 10 students are encouraged to choose a VCE subject or select a VET subject.	Year 11 & 12 / VCE / VET / VCAL Core curriculum is comprised of: English English Literature Foundation English Students are encouraged to choose broadly in year 11 and also consider selecting a traineeship or VET subject. Oberon offers 35 VCE studies, VCAL and a full range of VET options. Many year 11 students complete a year 12 study.
