Assessment & Reporting

Oberon High School uses assessment throughout the course of the school year in a variety of methods. This provides the basis for reporting the progress of individual students, Year 7 to 10 will chart progress per Victorian Essential Learnings Standards (VELS ) and VCE Units 1 and 2 assessment tasks are assessed in the same manner as Units 3 and 4 using Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA) standards.

Student report cards

Student report cards provide you with a clear picture of your child’s progress. They are used in all Victorian government schools to report student achievement in Prep to Year 10 against Victorian Essential Learning Standards. The only exception to this is where schools offer programs for students with disabilities. VCE reports provides information and grades about work completion for Units 1 and 2 (Year 11) and all grades for Units 3 and 4 (Year 12) will be provided by the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA).

Parents will receive a report card twice a year at the end of Semesters 1 and 2 and be invited to a parent-teacher interview to discuss their child’s progress at the completion of Terms 1 and 3.
